That is interesting news: a new article in CALICO and your engineering article - would love to read it. As to our project, I am a little bit in doubt whether we can prove effect of the Comp.Dict. use in reading comprehension and writing skills. Just read a bit in Martin East's recent publication and found the results rather disappointing (in terms of differences in achievement between "with" and "without" groups).
"Have sis in Wein"- ehm, beg your pardon, can't quite follow here.
Best wishes - great hearning/reading from you,
Ralf
Vie Gehts Ralf! Villkommen again. Vupertall eh? Had good AILA conference in Essen last Sept. Were U there? What kinds of PEDs R your Ss using? Have done another more up to date article that will come out in CALICO but in 2011 so kinda long to wait. But U can also see a 2007 Engineering article on Computerized Dictys if U'd like. Have sis in Wein. Small world, eh?
thanks for the warm welcome! I actually came across your 2006 paper on maximizing vocabulary growth by using VLS in combination with electronic dictionaries in the web. I read it last night and found it quite inspiring as we are about to launch a research project on the use of PEDs with low proficiency learners in secondary schools. PEDs are just beginning to spread here in this part of the world...
